VINTAGE WALLACE LABS OLD FORMULA TABS BOTTLE

Description

Wallace Company was started by John Wallace in 1934 as Wallace Laboratories and combined with the old Carter Company (Carter’s Little Liver Pills) in 1935 but continued being labeled as Wallace Laboratories and later (about 1958) as Wallace Pharmaceuticals.
Mr. Frank Berger of Wallace developed meprobamate in 1950 and it was sold as Milltown in1955, the first of the psychotropic medications.
Mr. Berger then developed carisoprodol and Wallace began the sale as Soma in 1959.
As was commonly done until the rule changed in 1967 companies combined products to improve sales and make more useful products some of which are for sale here.
Meprobamate fell out of favor with the development of Librium in 1960.
Carisoprodol is still sometimes used as a muscle relaxant.
Meprotabs 400mg was coated for taste.
