Description
Ciba was one of the Switzerland companies that formed a cartel monopolizing all pharmaceuticals in that country and part of Europe. It sold its products in United States under the name of CIBA pharmaceutical products Inc., Summit, New Jersey. It did not combine with Geigy company until 1970 Forming the CIBA – Geigy company, that name being added to the label.This pair of bottles of Pyribenzamine, the tradename for CIBA’s antihistamine is a rare find. The bottle of tablets are called Lontabs, CIBA’s name for sustained release products. The pint bottle is standard stock for dispensing 2-4 ounces as ordered. The type of CIBA labeling indicates these bottles are from the late 60s, they have the legend requirement but no expiration date.
