Sumac wax is an extremely pale yellow/white, and an economical vegan option with a melting point range of 110 - 132 degrees F.
It is also known as Sumach Wax, Berry Wax, Vegetable Wax, Vegan Wax, and Japan Wax.
Similar
to beeswax and laurel wax, it is used for candle & soap making, and also used to make lipsticks, lip balms, creams, lotions, hair pomades, and other beauty products
.
This wax has been used for centuries in candle making, and these candles
throw very little soot, have almost no drip, and are long burning with an even flame that tends to be bigger and brighter than modern candles.
Sumac Wax is
a harder, more brittle wax than most other waxes, and
is made from the fruit of
Rhus succedanea
and
Rhus Verniciflua.
