    Description

It is hard to come by recordings of
    Swami Muktananda
leading group chanting.  The classic fast chanting here was recorded with a large group of devotees on his Third World Tour and at his ashram,
    Gurudev Siddha Peeth
    in
    Ganeshpuri, India
.  This audio cassette (SYD 28) was purchased in South Fallsburg, NY at
    Shree Muktananda Ashram
in the early 90's.  The cassette was listened to occasionally back then and so has been gently used, and then lovingly stored in a smoke-free environment since then.  Both cassette and case are in very good condition.  I have just checked it and it plays well.
Side one is 34:49 in length and contains
    Om Namo Bhagavate Nityanandaya
, a chant in praise of Bhagavan Nityananda, Swami Muktananda's Guru.  The date on this side of the cassette says 1979.  Side two is 43:21 in length and contains
    Hare Rama Hare Krishna.
A very sweet feature of this tape is during one of the chants (and I forgot which side but I think it's the Om Namo Bhagavate side), there's a few times when you can plainly hear Muktananda speaking to his assistant while the group is chanting the response.  And that was of course Gurumayi (before she was called Gurumayi!)  You can hear her for a moment at the very end of that chant directing the group to sit quietly for meditation.
