This unisex shawl is designed to be worn during meditation or prayer, but is also warn for comfort when there is a chill in the air or used as decoration in the home and on altars. The soft and light fabric is yellow, and has a slight shine. It is hand-printed in terracotta with the images of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati and their son Lord Ganesh, the elephant-headed god, when he was young. The mantra “Om Namah Shivaya” is also printed in decorative Sanskrit letters, an attractive contrast that highlights the ancient prayer.

Lord Shiva is the Lord of Destruction and is a part of the Hindu trinity. He also represents meditation and consciousness. His consort is Goddess Parvati and their son is Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles, one of the most popular Hindu deities who is easily recognized by his elephant head and large belly.
Manufacturing process:
The fabric is dyed and printed by hand by artisan groups in India.

The 100% natural fabric is made from the jute plant, a highly renewable fiber grown abundantly in India that increases soil fertility for other crops. Each shawl is hand printed, providing employment for marginalized artisans and reducing production waste. Shipping materials are made from recycled and reused packaging products.
