Antique Primitive Wool? Hand Hooked Rug with Doggie, (too cute to just be a dog!)
The first 2 photos show the accurate colors...browns and green. The dog is not yellow.
This rug is hooked on burlap which is sewn back around the edges.
The tassels are made of cording with fringes that feel like silk.
This piece is truly Charming, OOAK. Not from a mass-produced pattern.
Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This is a very old rug, possible as old as the turn of the century. But it is all there, no holes or major losses. But it does have a few little pulls on the edges.
The colors are good, with any yellowing in the photos from the camera. In person there do not appear to be any stains.
It is 24” by 17.5”
There are hand made round braids with tassels on the bottom. The round pieces arranged to these are wood and some are cracked or split, but all are there.
The top has brass rings for hanging this piece of art. It was not made to be walked on as a rug. It looks great on the wall.
I wish I knew this little dogs name. For sure, this was made with love for this little doggie.
