****************SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS!!!****************Up for grabs is this PAS 18" low frequency speaker...And, I mean LOW ......
This one was completely rebuilt at PMR in Ohio with all new OEM/ AMERICAN components.
There are no aftermarket, replacement, import India made crap, or Chinese junk, but rather all AMERICAN components.
Fellas', ( or ladies) even if you don't buy from me- BUY AMERICAN!!!- It's IMPORTANT!!!
PAS makes some monstrously heavy duty drivers, and this one was no exception.. The cool thing about it is that I sort of had BASS GUITAR in mind when it was built.
......It has a re-pressed, super stiff but light weight cone that was neck dipped, so it's a "fast " sounding speaker for it's diameter, and has a FOUR INCH FLAT WIRE voice coil shoving it around...
.........Plus, it has the black RTV dampener ring in the one surround fold, so no cone edge resonance issues or 'ghost notes" being reflected back into the cone assembly..
It's dry, accurate, and almost hi-fi-like in it's presentation.. A very well controlled and tight sounding speaker, that CAN be used for PA./ subwoofer applications as well..
EVERYTHING from the voice coil out to the front mounting gaskets was replaced. If it wasn't metal, it was stripped, cleaned, and replaced. It's basically a brand new speaker again at this extent...
Here's some info:
Frame- aluminum
Magnetic composition- ceramic
Pole plates- alloy
Dust Cap- repressed pulp
Spider assembly- treated textile/ high compliance.
Litz wires- .060" diameter
Voice Coil- FOUR INCH diameter!
Coil former- kapton
Windings- copper flat wire
Hook up- spring loaded bare wire terminals
Cone- repressed pulp/fully ribbed light weight cone
Surround- treated/sealed textile/ RTV treated ring
Front mounting gaskets- rubitex/ ground cork/rubber
Impedance- 8 ohms
Power-800
SPL-97
response- 25hz-2.2Khz
Core- vented
That'll give you a better idea of what she consists of, and what she sounds like...
One point to mention- the magnet ring AND the pole plates are THICK! This is a very big magnetic assembly, and I included a picture of my hand in the pix as reference to the size and thickness of that structure. The pole plates are probably 1/2" thick!
A thick pole plate creates more inner surface area on the inside diameter of the front ring, which imposes more surface area upon the voice coil windings... basically, the thicker plate allows more turns of the voice coil to be immersed in the coil gap area......
Fast, warm, beefy, earthy, yet detailed, and doesn't sound "mushy" like most others do in those critical 2 octaves from 100-400hz.. That RTV dampener ring really makes a difference.
* Fully tested under diagnostics, and operates without any smoking, rubbing, buzzing, holes, rips, or tears, it's basically a brand new loudspeaker again..
**Plus, I'm confident enough that you'll LOVE what you just bought, that I am including my 15 day "NO GAMBLE" return option from delivery date (((less customer damage))) if for ANY REASON you don't like it...
So, if you need a beefy PAS speaker for bass guitar, PA use, even subwoofer use- then here ya' go!
ANY questions or concerns, just ask.
THANKS GUYS!!!
